Why convert WebP to JPG?
WebP is everywhere on the web now, so images you save from sites often arrive as .webp — and then some older editor, printer or app refuses them. JPG is the universal fallback that opens literally anywhere.
Two things to know: JPG can’t carry transparency, so any see-through areas get flattened; and converting one lossy format to another adds a little more compression loss.

Why won’t my WebP file open?
Some older apps, editors and email clients never added WebP support. Converting to JPG produces a file those programs understand. Every modern browser opens WebP fine, so if you only need it in a browser you may not need to convert at all.
Does WebP to JPG lose quality?
A little — both are lossy, so re-encoding adds some compression on top of what the WebP already had. At high quality it’s hard to notice, but keep the original if you can.
Will transparency survive?
No — JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are flattened onto a solid background. If your WebP is a transparent logo or icon, convert to PNG instead.
