What this reads
The tool reads the location and photo time stored inside the files you choose, in this browser. It does not use your device location or upload your photos. The street map behind the trail is loaded from OpenStreetMap — only the map area is requested, never anything about your photos.
A picture of movement, not proof
The trail plots the coordinates found in your photos over the map. A missing point can mean the photo has no location data, the format is not readable here, or the camera never saved it. It does not prove who was there.

For a copy with location and other metadata removed, use the photo cleaner. For JPEG, PNG and WebP copies without re-encoding, use the metadata stripper.
Photo trail questions
Does this tool use a map service?
The street map behind the trail is loaded from OpenStreetMap, so your browser requests the map tiles for that area. Your photos are never uploaded — only the coordinates found inside them are read and plotted, on your device. Offline, the trail still draws on a plain grid.
Why is a photo missing from the trail?
Many photos do not include location data, and some formats or damaged files cannot be read. The tool keeps those out of the plot instead of guessing.
Does deleting location data change the picture?
It can be removed from a new sharing copy. The photo cleaner re-encodes a clean copy; the metadata stripper can remove it losslessly in supported formats.
