Set an original date on a scan, shift a camera clock by hours, correct coordinates, remove a creator name, or update the camera fields. Blank replacement values are never guessed for you.

Plausible replacement, not random noise

Metadata is a claim, not proof

Editing metadata changes what a file claims. That can matter if a photo may be evidence, part of a work record, or subject to retention rules. This tool changes JPEG EXIF only; it never changes pixels, the original file, cloud-library dates, or metadata outside EXIF.

Can I edit photo metadata without uploading the image?

Yes. The JPEG is read and rewritten in this browser. Sealby never receives the picture, its metadata or your replacement values.

Can I change or remove a photo’s GPS location?

Yes. Keep the existing coordinates, remove the GPS block, or enter a replacement latitude and longitude. The original file is never overwritten.

What does the plausible replacement button add?

It adds a past daytime timestamp, coordinates for a real city centre, and a matched camera make, model and software profile. The values are fictional and the page says so plainly.

Does editing EXIF change the picture itself?

No. The JPEG image data is preserved; the tool replaces only the EXIF metadata block in a new download. Cloud photo libraries may keep their own separate metadata.
