Private PDF security tool
Remove a PDF password
Use the password you already know. Your PDF never leaves this device.
Your PDF and password stay on this device. Processing happens in a local browser worker.
Only with a password you know
Choose the PDF, enter its existing password, then save the unlocked copy. This tool only continues after QPDF accepts the password you supply. It does not crack passwords, try wordlists, guess variations or automate retries. If the password is wrong, it stops and tells you plainly.
If you do not know the password, we cannot help you bypass it. Ask the sender or owner for an unlocked copy instead.
When a PDF password is not enough
A password on one file is a good start. If you do this repeatedly for photos, IDs and documents, an encrypted vault is usually a better fit. See protecting IDs and financial documents and how zero-knowledge encryption works.
