Sealby for Mac · Coming soon

Hide files and photos on your Mac

Sealby is an encrypted vault for Mac that keeps files, photos and notes behind their own PIN in a familiar, Finder-like file structure.

In development and preparing for Mac App Store review.

Free on macOS, with paid features like Duress mode. Sync with your iPhone.

Made for the Mac

A private file space that still feels familiar

Folders & search

Browse folders and files inside Sealby with the structure and interactions you already know.

Photos, Videos, Documents & any file

Drag files from Finder into a vault, and drag them back to a destination you choose.

Multiple vaults

Keep work, personal files and hidden material in separate vaults with separate unlocks.

Encrypted on your device

Sealby uses the same encrypted vault format and cryptographic core as the iPhone app.

Notes & rich text

Store notes beside files and quickly search names and note text inside the unlocked vault.

Cold vaults

Free on every tier. Remove a vault’s daily unlock path so opening it again requires its recovery phrase.

Sealby closes the readable view and keeps the stored vault encrypted.

More purpose-built than hiding a folder

macOS has useful built-in privacy tools. Sealby combines files, photos and notes with multiple independent vaults.

Visibility only

Hidden Finder files

Useful for reducing clutter, but hiding changes visibility rather than creating a separately encrypted vault.

Manual mount & eject

Encrypted disk image

Disk Utility can create a password-protected image that you manually mount and eject in Finder.

Not every file type

Locked Apple Notes

Useful for supported notes and attachments, but it is not a general vault for every file type.

Sealby

Multiple PIN-linked vaults for files, media and notes, organised inside a familiar private browser.

Built-in product details checked against official documentation in October 2026.

Your iPhone vaults, synced to Mac

Sealby syncs vaults automatically between iPhone and Mac.

  • Open the same vault on iPhone and Mac.
  • Changes stay in sync between your Apple devices.
  • Encrypted export and import remain available for manual copies.

The vault stays inside Sealby’s private browser. It is not mounted as a permanent Finder location.
