Notes on this comparison

We compare published features, not independently tested security. A red cross earns no credit: the feature is unsupported, has a drawback, or is labelled “Not advertised” because we found no claim in the checked sources. “Not advertised” does not prove a feature is absent. An amber dash means documented partial support. A grey question mark is reserved for checks we could not assess and is excluded from the ranking score.

Should I use Folder Lock or Sealby on iPhone?

Sealby keeps photos, files and notes in separate account-free vaults. Folder Lock is a broader security suite with cross-platform features and account-based sync.

What Folder Lock is built for

  • One vendor across Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone
  • Rich panic features: decoy password, panic switch, intruder photos
  • Backup to your own Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox, which the developer states stays encrypted
  • Wallet, password and notes types alongside photos and files

What to consider

  • Sync between devices requires a Folder Lock account
  • Its iPhone help describes recovering a forgotten password by email
  • No documented hidden vaults that leave no stored list or count

The honest verdict

Choose Sealby for a focused vault without a Sealby account. Choose Folder Lock if its wider platform suite is what you need.

Common questions

Do I need an account for Folder Lock?

According to the developer’s FAQ, syncing between devices uses a Folder Lock account with an email and password. Sealby has no accounts at all; its optional backup goes to your own iCloud as encrypted data.

Which panic features does Sealby have?

Different PINs open different vaults, with no stored list or count. An optional duress PIN (Premium) opens a harmless vault and removes your other vaults from the device. Sealby locks the moment you leave it and blanks the app switcher.

Download Sealby and protect what matters. Setup takes under a minute, and there’s no account to create.
