Common questions

What is the difference between hiding and encrypting?

Hiding moves files out of view; anyone who finds them, or reads the phone’s storage or backup, can open them. Encrypting turns them into data that cannot be read without the key. Sealby encrypts every file with its own key before it is saved.

Does Sealby disguise itself?

No. Disguises are widely known, and a famous trick is not deniability. Sealby is honest about being a vault and instead makes vaults themselves deniable: there is no list or count of them anywhere.
