Use case

Private photos and videos, for your eyes only.

Some photos and videos are not for passing around. Sealby keeps them in an encrypted vault with its own unlock secret. Lock that vault before handing over your phone: encryption does not hide content that you have already opened on screen.

How do I hide private photos and videos on an iPhone?

The iPhone Hidden album is locked by default with Face ID, Touch ID or the device passcode. Sealby adds a separate vault unlock secret and on-device encryption. Import photos and videos, or capture new photos with its camera. Verify the imported copies before deleting their originals from Photos and Recently Deleted; do not empty unrelated deleted items.

Import from your library, or capture straight in

Import existing photos and videos, check that they open correctly in the vault, and only then decide whether to delete those originals from Photos and Recently Deleted. Or take a new photo directly into the vault with Sealby’s camera. Each imported file is encrypted with its own key.

A vault for every audience

Keep an everyday vault with harmless content and a separate private vault. Different PINs open different vaults, and Sealby stores no list or count of them. This does not guarantee that someone demanding access will be satisfied or that handing over a phone is safe.

Encrypted, not just hidden

Sealby encrypts vault content with AES-256-GCM and protects the device-side unlock key with the Secure Enclave. Photos left outside the vault are not covered, and files you have unlocked can still be viewed or copied. Encryption is protection for locked content, not a guarantee about every copy on your phone.

Common questions

Is Sealby better than the iPhone Hidden album for photos and videos?

The Hidden album keeps photos and videos out of the main grid and is locked by default with Face ID, Touch ID or the device passcode. Sealby uses a separate vault PIN, pattern or passphrase and encrypts imported files on the device. Keep the vault locked when handing over your phone; neither option protects content you are already showing.

Does Sealby delete photos from my camera roll automatically?

No, and that’s on purpose. When you import, Sealby makes an encrypted copy in the vault and leaves your original where it is. Nothing is removed without you. Once the copy is safely inside, delete the original from Photos yourself. Want to skip that step? Take the photo with Sealby’s built-in camera. It goes straight into the vault, and no original is ever created in your camera roll.

Can I keep videos in Sealby, not just photos?

Yes. Videos are treated just like photos. Short clips and long recordings are imported and encrypted the same way, each with its own key.

Can my photos and videos end up on a server somewhere?

Sealby does not upload readable vault content to its own servers. If you enable Premium iCloud backup, encrypted blocks are stored in iCloud under your Apple account. Files you export or share separately have their own handling and copies.
